Cut in the 1950’s, when the tree was taken down to sell at the Museum shop at Lee’s Headquarters. This wood was purchased directly from the former owners of Lee’s Headquarters by the Gettysburg Museum of History. Lee’s Headquarters has now been purchased by the Civil War Trust and will be donated back the The Gettysburg National Military Park making this a unique and rare artifact.
